I think the sky looks a bit strange, and the sense of depth seems a bit off unless the dark area in the distance is mostly in shadow? I think it's quite a nice concept, I personally find it quite a calm and relaxing image hehe.
He doesn't really look lost to me, but it seems like he's got a lot of walking to do :P
